About Sindara

Every child grows in their own way and at their own pace. Sindara is here for children and young people who need a little more support with communicating, managing big feelings, getting along with others or handling everyday routines.

We believe the most useful growth happens in ordinary moments: at mealtimes, in play, when plans change and when spending time with friends. So support at Sindara is part of the whole day, not something saved for a single appointment.

Sindara is not a school and not a hospital. It is a warm, structured place where children are known, respected and encouraged, and where families are treated as partners.

How we support children and young people

Support is shaped around each child and what matters most to their family.

  • Full-day support

A structured, caring day with play, routines, meals, rest and time with others. Every part of the day is a chance to practise and grow.

  • Communication

Help to express needs, make choices and understand others, using whatever way of communicating works best for your child.

  • Feelings and sensory needs

Support to notice when things feel like too much, find ways to calm down and cope with change.

  • Friendship and joining in

Gentle encouragement to play, share, take turns and feel comfortable around others.

  • Everyday independence

Building confidence with daily routines such as eating, dressing, toileting and looking after belongings.

  • Learning and taking part

Help with focus, getting started and staying with an activity, at a pace that suits your child.

  • Working with families

Your priorities help shape your child's support. We listen, keep you informed and work alongside you.

The Sindara Hangar

A place to play, create and belong.

The Hangar is the heart of Sindara's social life. It's a relaxed, welcoming space for play, music, creativity and friendship, where children and young people can be themselves.

Some love to be in the middle of things. Others prefer to watch, or enjoy quiet company nearby. Everyone is welcome to join in their own way.
